Ford GoBike – Bike-Sharing

Bike sharing is eco-friendly, cheap, and convenient. It allows city residents to get from point A to point B quickly while avoiding traffic jams. By simply unlocking a bike with a QR code or personal password, users can book the bike in advance and use it for as long as necessary. When done, the bike can be left on the closest parking lot. US startup Ford GoBike makes use of the credo “grab and go” by placing as many parking slots for taking and leaving bikes as users need. Another function allows GoBike riders to locate the next convenient station when they want to end their session.

Coup – eScooter-Sharing

Electric scooters are faster than bikes but they have to always be charged. Through the support of apps, users can see the level of battery charge of one specific eScooter and book it in advance. Along with electric scooters, the Germany-based startup Coup takes care of user safety and provides free helmets hidden inside their scooter’s storage compartments.

Drivy – Car-Sharing

Car-sharing is used by people looking to rent a car and locals who own a car and want to list it for rent when they’re not using it. With feedback on vehicles, a driver can easily choose the most suitable variant and select the most convenient location by finding the closest car in the app. French startup Drivy, for example, offers a car-sharing service that can be accessed via a mobile application. Car owners have the opportunity to earn money while renting out their car.

Cabify – Ride-Sharing

Similar to the taxi principle, ride-sharing enables real-time journey tracking, reviewing drivers and their cars, earning a salary as a driver, and providing corporate commuting for coworkers. Spanish startup Cabify, for instance, offers a business option for helping employees commute to work. Drivers can pick up employees along the road and get them to and from work to make commuting more comfortable and environmentally friendly.

GoKid – Carpooling

The main difference between carpooling and ride-sharing is that drivers and passengers have the same destination in the former. Carpoolers are usually neighbors, friends, coworkers, and families with kids who need to travel regularly to the same places such as work, school, shopping centers, etc. US startup GoKid facilitates a service for taking kids to schools, sports clubs, and other places usually by neighboring families whose kids need to travel to the same destination. Such carpooling is based on trusted drivers together with the help of an in-app messaging and real-time car tracking service, so parents can check where their children are.
