Volcanomotor – Permanent Magnet Brushed DC Motors

A brushed DC motor is a popular form of electric vehicle propulsion as the cost of this technology is relatively low. In addition, it offers high reliability and simple motor speed controls. However, high maintenance required for this type of motor limits its use to smaller industrial vehicles. Chinese startup Volcanomotor manufactures electric design motors and develops electric motors for industrial applications such as forklifts, pallet trucks, and electric vans. Their motors offer higher efficiency with a wider speed range and operational stability.

Sinotech – Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motors

In a brushless DC motor, the use of servo systems or sensors are able to detect and control the angle of a rotor and change the current through the windings using semiconductor switches. Such motors offer higher speed ranges, efficiency, and longer operating life as the friction that it would casue with a brush is absent. The US-based startup Sinotech manufactures brushless DC motors with a focus on electric vehicle applications. Their motors offer greater power density, speed ranges, and are easy to maintain.

NGM – Synchronous AC Motor

In a synchronous AC motor, the rotation of the shaft is synchronized with the frequency of the current being supplied, these motors are characterized by producing high power at low speeds which is ideal for heavy duty and civil infrastructure construction vehicles. The US-based company NGM specializes in manufacturing AC synchronous motors for automotive applications. Their unique motor technology is designed to perform with a higher efficiency and removes the costs associated with permanent magnet systems.

Ramco Electric Motors – Induction AC Motor

An induction AC Motors rotor turns at a lower speed than the magnetic field . The speed of the motor is controlled by the frequency of the AC power being supplied. The simplicity of this motor, along with it having just a single moving component, is why this type of motor is used despite of its lower speed output. The US-based startup Ramco Electric Motors manufactures specialist induction motors designed to work in a wide range of applications including electric vehicles. Their expertise in manufacturing motors and their collaboration efforts for developing technology makes their electric vehicle applications more reliable.
